- MX$210 ticket in the price
- shop stop
No for the zone: tickets are sold at the five gates on the day, 08:00 to 17:00, and we found no official online sale page. Yes for balloon flights, La Gruta at weekends and tours with pickup.
No for the archaeological zone: tickets are sold at the five gates on the day of your visit, MX$210 per person for international visitors. The zone opens 08:00 to 17:00 every day of the year. Yes for three things around it: a balloon flight, a weekend table at La Gruta and any tour with a pickup in Mexico City.
No: on 17 March 2026 INAH stated that tickets for its archaeological zones are sold only at the ticket offices of each site. At Teotihuacan those offices are at the five gates, Gate 1 to Gate 5, Puerta 1 to Puerta 5 on INAH’s map.
An earlier bulletin, dated 13 March 2026, named the ticket offices and “the official INAH page” as the two points of sale. It gave no address for that page. We found no official online sale page.
Your ticket is MX$210 as an international visitor and MX$105 with a Mexican ID. Last entry is 16:30. The bus from Terminal Central de Autobuses del Norte needs no booking either. You pay cash at the counter on platform 7. The rest is on the tickets and getting there pages.
Three things: balloon flights, which check in at 05:30, a weekend table at La Gruta, and tours with a pickup in Mexico City.
Every balloon operator flies at dawn only. WeFly checks you in at 05:30 sharp and flies 07:00 to 08:00. From Mexico City that means leaving at about 03:30, by its own estimate. Operator transport collects you earlier: Sky Balloons at the Ángel de la Independencia before 05:30, Vuelos en Globo MX in Polanco from 04:00.
Changes are free up to 72 hours before the flight at WeFly. Vuelos en Globo MX refunds 100% with 72 hours of notice. The balloons guide has the six operators and their peso prices; the balloon tours page has the selection.
La Gruta, 200 m from Gate 5, recommends a reservation for the weekend on its own site. It assigns a set number of reservations and keeps a waiting list if you arrive without one. A booked table is held for 10 minutes. The dance shows run on Saturday at 15:30 and on Sunday at 13:30, 15:30 and 17:30. For weekdays it makes no such recommendation.
A tour with pickup is booked before the day: the coach runs fixed stops and times. The Turibus Express collects from 07:30 at the Auditorio Nacional to 08:00 at the Zócalo and asks you to be there 15 minutes early. Each tour on the tours from Mexico City page says where the pickup is and whether the MX$210 ticket is in the price.
By the sun: balloon check-in at 05:30, in the air 07:00 to 08:00, breakfast 09:30 to 10:30 at the WeFly field. The gates open at 08:00 and INAH’s hottest hours start at 11:30, so you have about an hour inside the zone before the heat.
No: the equinox bulletin of 13 March 2026 priced the ticket at MX$210 at the ticket offices, on the day. It is also the one weekend INAH tells you to avoid: 38,103 visitors passed the gates from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 March 2026.
On Saturday 21 March 2026 the gates opened at 07:00, an hour early, with last access at 16:30. Sunday ran 08:00 to 17:00. Both site museums were closed. INAH banned backpacks, suitcases, chairs, tents and speakers at the gates.
For an ordinary day INAH names Tuesday and Wednesday as the quieter days and 08:00 to 09:00 as the hour to arrive. The best time page has the rest.
We found no official online sale page. Tickets are sold at the ticket offices of the five gates on the day: MX$210 per person for international visitors, MX$105 with a Mexican ID. An INAH bulletin of 13 March 2026 named the ticket offices and the official INAH page as the points of sale; a second bulletin, of 17 March 2026, said that INAH zones sell only at their ticket offices.
At the weekend, yes: La Gruta recommends a reservation for Saturdays and Sundays on its own site, through OpenTable, by phone or on WhatsApp. It assigns a set number of reservations and keeps a waiting list for walk-ins. A booked table is held for 10 minutes. The dance shows run on Saturday at 15:30 and on Sunday at 13:30, 15:30 and 17:30. The restaurant opens 08:00 to 18:00 every day, 200 m from Gate 5.
Before the cancellation windows close: 72 hours at WeFly, Sky Balloons and Vuelos en Globo MX, 48 hours at Volare. None of the six operators publishes a minimum lead time. Sky Balloons tells you the exact pickup time the day before. Vuelos en Globo MX treats date changes at Christmas, New Year, Holy Week, Easter, July and August as subject to availability. Aventura en Globos holds a seat for a deposit of MX$800 per person.
Yes, when the tour includes a pickup, because the coach runs a fixed list of stops and times. The Turibus Express collects from 07:30 at the Auditorio Nacional to 08:00 at the Zócalo and asks you to be there 15 minutes early; its Hemiciclo a Juárez stop closes on Sundays. Sky Balloons does not collect at private homes or Airbnb. Each tour page on this site says where the pickup is and whether the MX$210 ticket is in the price.
